Sweetness of a mask

We are back to wearing masks on the regular again.

Yes, it's getting a bit tedious, but it is important.

Whether you agree to wear them or not - it's what we are supposed to do.

So why not make it more enjoyable.

1. A little technique I started doing is putting a drop of essential oil on the lower edge of my mask near the chin.

The smell oozes up and tickles my nostrils.

  • For an energizing lift, I use Mint or citrus.

  • Peppermint, Spearmint, and lemon are wonderful to use alone or in combination

  • Orange is fresh and clean

  • Lavender is relaxing and calming

  • Vanilla makes me happy like smelling fresh baked cookies

  • Lemongrass is bright and crisp

  • Eucalyptus is like Vicks Vapo rub for a sinus opening experience.

  • Even a mixture of scents can brighten your day.

You can purchase aromatherapy essential oils at many stores or online. They will last awhile because you only need a drop or two.

Be careful not to use too much mint, it can make your eyes water, but it won't hurt you.

2. Another method is to make a potpourri, using freshly dried flowers, herbs, wood chips, citrus peel, or anything from which you like the smell. Or you can purchase pre-made mixtures.

Place it in a ziplock bag with your masks for a while before using. Make sure to shake off any residue before wearing.

3. Chew a piece of gum or a breath mint when you put on your mask.

4. I even put the mask in the pocket of my purse where I store the gum. It takes on the smell.

It's always a good idea to do a sniff test to be sure you like the scents before wrapping the mask on your face.

Now, get out your favorite matching mask and have a safe day.
