I’ve been reading the book "You are awesome" by Neil Pasricha
It has some very helpful tips for being the best you.
We need to be able to let go of something that’s bothering us so that we can get past it. Reveal to heal. It's a Contemporary confession.
A mental release that comes when you crystallize anxious thoughts and eject them from your brain. It’s like therapy, just much less expensive. Saying to yourself, "I am Awesome" and believing it, or fake it until you make it, because You are Awesome!
Here’s a fun little exercise to do for two minutes a day. Call it your brain health.
Two-minute morning practice
The way it works is that you answer these 3 questions every morning.
Take 2 minutes out of your waking 1000 minutes a day. You don't have to go real deep, just be specific.
Write down and answer these three things.
I will let go of
I am grateful for
I will focus on
1. Think of one thing to let go of TODAY, for example:
Worrying about my hair,
Self-doubt about cooking
Was my essay good enough?
2. Write down one thing that you are grateful for, like:.
I can buy food for my cats
A beautiful sunrise
The smell of winter
* Studies have shown that people who wrote down what they are grateful for were happier and physically healthier.
3. Plan a focus for TODAY, Like:
Not letting other drivers bother me.
Listening more and talking less
Pulling my shoulders back and walking with good posture
This practice gives you a mental release, puts positive thoughts in your brain, and brings a focus to your day. Set your day off to a good start - Do this first thing in the morning.
You can always look back on it at the end of your day and see how you did with your intensions. If you did well - give yourself a praise, if you didn’t - forgive yourself and move on. You’ve always got tomorrow.
Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
I’m going to let go of negative comments
I’m grateful for the ability to be able to blog and get this information to you.
I’m going to focus on Smiling more.
